Beltane is a Fire Festival - and a perfect exciuse for a girls night

Beltane for the Girls

April 21, 20262 min read

Beltane is a fire festival, and marks the beginning of the growing season. The world has fully woken from the cold winter, things are starting to bloom. Communities gather to celebrate life, light, fertility and ask the Gods to bless their land & livestock & families & communities.

I come alive around this time of year, every year. There is such an energy. I'm so excited for my FIRST ever Beltane Girls Celebration.

Symbols of Beltane are perfect for girlhood.

  • Flowers, which represent fertility, growth, and life

  • Ribbons are the intentions and dreams we hope to weave into our identity

  • Fire transforms and carries intentions to the Gods

  • Feasting represents abundance and celebration

Beltane Agenda

Floral Crown Making

Weaving intentionality in order to create your identity. Creating beauty. There are tons of resources on pinterest and youtube for how to do this, depending on what you want your floral crown to look like. I'm using 20 guage wire, and floral tape, wire and ribbons. Going to trader joes to get flowers.

Candle Stick Decorating

Something to bring home, to burn throughout the season to continue to set intentions. There are also videos on pinterest and youtube for how to do this, depending on what you want your candles to look like. I'm using tea lights and dried flowers to place onto candlesticks.

Intention Setting

Take 3 slips of paper, and each person writes down 3 things:

  1. I'm letting go of ___ to make room.

  2. I attract more ___ into my life.

  3. I am actively weaving __ into my identity.

Take turns sharing or tossing your intentions into the fire, and watch as in transforms to smoke raises to the universe.

What To Eat

Sweet & Savory S'mores
Since a Bonfire is a HAVE-TO for Beltane, why not center your food around it. It's the easiest prep, keeps things light and social, and provides a variety for people to choose from.

Gather with your girlfriends. Create something beautiful. Honor what’s beginning to bloom within each of you. Reconnect with joy. Set intentions for the coming season. Ask for support and nurture each other. This is girlhood. I can't wait to know how yours goes!
